His death has been officially ruled as asphyxia by drowning. Bill Cosby also shared his condolences following his TV son’s passing. A rep for Warner’s longtime Cosby, says that the actor received the phone call about Warner’s death in Costa Rica and that it reminded him of the death of his son, Ennis Cosby, in 1997. Ennis was shot and killed during a failed robbery attempt.  Wyatt also revealed that the last time Cosby spoke to Warner, he said that he was excited about a concert happening in Minneapolis and “felt like he was changing the world.” According to his rep, Cosby said that Malcolm-Jamal Warner “made a lasting impact with his life and career that will continue to change the world.”  Bill reported says,”every young man growing up in the projects back in the day wanted to be like Warner and to have a family like the Huxtables.”

Waka Flocka Flame was tossed out of Surf Lodge in Montauk following a heated altercation with staff members, Page Six reported. According to the report, Waka got around a crowd by going in a side entrance along with his 14 others in her entourage. A security guard attempted to stop them but they were unsuccessful. Then Waka allegedly began verbally abusing staff members of the establishment. “Waka berated the guard,” an eyewitness said. “He was saying, ‘Go f–k yourself, you’re a d–k.’ He said ‘f–k’ a thousand times.” Eventually, another security guard came over, and the two decided to let them in after some arguing. Despite the win for Waka, he allegedly didn’t let it go. A few moments later, he stormed back outside to confront them again, this time with one member of his group allegedly shouting a homophobic slur. “I’m worth $20 million. Do you know who I am?” Waka allegedly said. The staff finally lost their patience and kicked him out.  “The whole thing happened quickly, under three minutes,” the source continued. In a statement, Surf Lodge management expressed its disappointment in Waka’s behavior. “It’s simply not okay to treat staff with disrespect no matter who you are,” the statement read. “It would have been nice to have him join us for the festivities, but not at the cost of mistreating [our] teammates.” Before the alleged incident occurred, Waka performed at the nearby Bounce Beach Club, where his performance garnered good reviews.  “The show was great,” one concertgoer said. “He was bubbly and fun. He was taking selfies with people’s phones.”

Ice Cube is the latest celebrity to offer to Malcolm-Jamal Warner after his tragic passing. While speaking with TMZ at LAX on Monday (July 21), the rap legend paid tribute to the Cosby Show star. “I look at him as an actor who brought a realness to television playing a great character, playing a great son on The Cosby Show,” Cube said. “He did a few great things outside of The Cosby Show. It’s tragic.” Along with Cube, many other celebrities showed their love for Waner who played the iconic character Theo Huxtable and was a Grammy winning musician. On her website,  Beyonce released a statement that read, “Rest in power, Malcolm-Jamal Warner. Thanks for being a big part of our shared television history. You will be missed.”  Bill Cosby, also told ABC News that Warner’s death remninding him of the passing of his son Ennis.  “He was always a great studier, and I enjoyed working with him very much,” Cosby said about Warner. Tracee Ellis Ross, who starred as Warner’s wife on BET’s Reed Between the Lines, took to Instagram to share photos with a heartfelt message. “I love you, Malcolm. First, I met you as Theo with the rest of the world, then you were my first TV husband. My heart is deeply saddened. What an actor and friend you were: warm, gentle, present, kind, thoughtful, deep, funny, elegant,” Ross wrote. “You made the world a brighter place. Sending so much love to your family. I’m so sorry for this unimaginable loss.”  Warner’s official cause of death was asphyxia after getting caught by a rip current Sunday afternoon near Cocles, a beach in Limon, Costa Rica. Warner is survived by his wife and young daughter.

Stevie Wonder is one of the greatest musicians of all time and at 75 years old, he has no plans to retire anytime soon. During a new interview with BBC’s Sidetracked podcast on Monday, July 21, the Motown legend revealed that he will keep performing as long as he can. “For as long as you breathe, for as long as your heart beats, there’s more for you to do,” Wonder told host Annie Mac. “I’m not gonna stop the gift that keeps pouring through my body.” He went on to explain that “an artist doesn’t stop drawing just because.” Instead, “you keep on. So as long as you can imagine, as long as you are going to be creative, and as long as you let your mind work, you don’t have to retire.”  The 25-time Grammy Award winner said he still gets excited about music just like he did when he released his first album at 12. “I love playing music, that’s like my mantra. I think I can do all the stuff I want to do – still have fun and do what I need to do – but I’m not going to stop the gift that keeps pouring through my body,” he said. “I love doing what I’m doing,” Wonder added. Jermaine Dupri is hoping that former Migos members Offset and Quavo will officially reconcile.   During an appearance on the BagFuel podcast, the So So Def founder shared his thoughts on the Migos’ breakup and how it forever changed the world of hip-hop in Atlanta. “That hurt a lot of the city, period,” he explained. “The Migos breaking up was a bad situation for Atlanta because they was moving — and I think they’re better together anyway, me personally.” He also shared how Takeoff’s death left a void in Atlanta and how the city is still grieving. “It was really crazy for us. William Anthony McNeil Jr., a 22-year-old Black man, was seen in police bodycam footage being struck in his face several times by Jacksonville law enforcement officers According to ABC News, the violent video shows sheriff’s deputies repeatedly “beating and punching” McNeil during a traffic stop that took place on Feb. 19, 2025. He is heard questioning the officers why he was being pulled over. McNeil then refused to leave his car. T.K. Waters, Sheriff of Jacksonville, said that “the State Attorney’s Office has determined that none of the involved officers violated criminal law,” but noted that the  deputies’ actions are under “administrative review” to determine if they violated “JSO policy.” He also identified the deputy who broke the car window and punched McNeil as Officer D. Bowers. View this post on Instagram A post shared by The Shade Room (@theshaderoom) “These administrative reviews are ongoing, but the State Attorney’s Office has determined that none of the involved officers violated criminal law, even though the administrative review has yet to be completed,” Waters said during a news conference. “Pending the outcome of this administrative review, Officer Bowers has been stripped of his law enforcement authority,” Waters continued.  Waters did not disclose if the deputies had been placed on suspension or placed on administrative leave.  According to court records, McNeil was arrested and charged with “resisting arrest without violence to his or her person, possessing not more than 20 grams of marijuana with intent to use drug paraphernalia, driving while driver’s license is suspended, not wearing a seatbelt, and no headlights in rain/fog/or smoke.” Eventually, McNeil was sentenced to and served two days in jail for “resisting arrest without violence and driving with a suspended license.” Harry Daniels, McNeil’s lawyer, said that his client plans to take legal action. “This officer broke his window and just punched him in his face. Mr. McNeil suffered very significant injury,” Daniels said. “We are planning to do everything we can do to secure justice,” Daniels went on. “We are seeking all options to ensure accountability.”
