Jeezy nearly missed his Baltimore show, but one dedicated Uber driver made sure the night went on. On August 4th, the rapper posted the full story to Instagram, describing how a series of setbacks turned into a 10-hour road trip that ended just minutes before he hit the stage. Stuck without a way to travel by air, Jeezy and his team decided to drive. A couple of hours into the trip, though, they hit a major obstacle. “We hit an object on the highway, puncturing the gas tank and causing fuel to leak everywhere,” Jeezy wrote. The team pulled into a small gas station in South Carolina to figure out their next move. Attempts to secure a private jet were unsuccessful due to weather, leaving them with few options. That’s when they booked an Uber to reach a rental car location. Enter Tanner, the driver who would go far beyond what anyone expected. “I assured him that whatever it was, he’d have it,” Jeezy said. “Like real one, he didn’t hesitate and just kept driving.” Tanner drove Jeezy all the way to Baltimore, logging ten hours on the road and pulling up just ten minutes before the concert was set to begin. Jeezy made it to the stage, and the show went on as planned. To show his appreciation, Jeezy invited Tanner backstage and gave him a Snowman tee. “Shout out to the real MVP, my Uber driver Tanner! Not all heroes wear capes!” he said during the concert while sharing the story with the crowd. What started as a travel nightmare turned into a memory that Jeezy and his fans won’t forget.

Mathew Knowles isn’t holding back when it comes to the recent break-in that resulted in Beyoncé’s unreleased material being stolen. While speaking on The Don Lemon Show on August 1st, the former Destiny’s Child manager addressed the July 8th incident where choreographer Christopher Grant’s rented Jeep Wagoneer was broken into in Atlanta. Grant’s vehicle contained more than just personal belongings. According to reports, thieves took hard drives with unreleased Beyoncé music, show layouts, past and upcoming set lists, clothing, luggage, and high-end headphones. The Atlanta Police Department is investigating and has already questioned at least one individual. Knowles questioned why a choreographer would be in possession of such sensitive material in the first place. “The choreographer had better be glad that I’m not still managing her cause he would be in hot water,” he told Lemon. “First of all, why did he have a hard drive with all her music as a choreographer? And if he did have it, why didn’t he secure it? You never ever would leave anything like that in a car.” Though he admitted he only knows what’s been made public, Knowles made it clear he would have handled things differently if he were still involved in Beyoncé’s career. He also reflected on the moment during Beyoncé’s June 28 concert in Houston when a prop vehicle malfunctioned mid-performance. The equipment tilted at an awkward angle, forcing the singer to stop the show briefly. “Beyoncé’s such a professional and her team is so professional. Nobody panicked, and she told them with a stern voice to let her down. They realized they were wrong. They handled it very, very well,” Knowles said, showing full confidence in his daughter’s ability to stay calm and in control on stage.

Kid Cudi has announced that he won’t have guest features on his albums anymore.  Taking to X(formerly Twitter), Cudi explained why he will be solo on the rest of his forthcoming projects. “No features, just me. I think im over features unless it happens organically. There are people I’ve had on my albums that i havent talked to in years. Lil Uzi Vert is at the center of a new lawsuit after a man claims the rapper ordered an attack that left him physically and emotionally scarred. The lawsuit, filed by Vaughn Trotman in New York, points to an incident that allegedly happened on April 17, 2024, in Manhattan. According to AllHipHop, Trotman says everything started when he took a photo of Lil Uzi’s car while walking along Broadway near 27th Street. According to the suit, that small act sparked a sudden outburst. Lil Uzi allegedly responded by using a racial slur and shouting to his team, “get that man in the blue,” identifying Trotman by his jacket. What followed, according to attorney Jack Berry, was a violent attack involving both Lil Uzi and his entourage. “[Lil Uzi] then emerged from his vehicle and descended upon [Vaughn] as well while [Vaughn] was being choked, kicked, and punched,” said Berry. The lawsuit accuses Lil Uzi of personally participating in the assault while yelling insults at the victim. Trotman says the physical injuries were severe. He claims damage to his neck, back, and right shoulder required surgery. Along with that came emotional trauma and financial losses from being unable to work after the incident. After the alleged assault, Lil Uzi reportedly addressed the damage to Trotman’s phone before tossing money into the crowd. “[Lil Uzi] unrolled his window, acknowledged that he broke [Vaughn’s] phone, and then, to add insult to literal injury, threw a handful of hundred-dollar bills into the crowd while calling [Vaughn] an expletive. [Lil Uzi] drove away from the scene of the attack,” Berry added. The suit names Lil Uzi Vert, his company Uzivert LLC, and several unnamed individuals. It accuses them of assault, battery, and negligence. As of now, Lil Uzi’s camp has remained silent.

Boosie Badazz revealed over the weekend that he’s accepted a federal plea deal related to a gun charge. The Louisiana native—whose real name is Torrence Hatch Jr.—first faced weapons charges in 2023, only for the case to be dismissed. However, a new indictment followed the next year, reviving federal scrutiny. “JUST ACCEPTED A PLEA FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ON MY GUN CASE,” Boosie wrote on Twitter on August 4, as reported by The Shade Room. “I THOUGHT THIS CASE WAS OVER N I WAS GOING TO GET ON WITH MY LIFE BUT ‘GOD DONT MAKE MISTAKES’ N IM TIRED OF FIGHTING.” In his post, Boosie underscored the emotional toll of the case and how family factored into his decision to stop contesting the charges. “TALKED TO MY FAMILY N THIS IS THE RIGHT DECISION,” he said, later adding, “TO ALL MY FANS ACROSS THE WORLD SAY A PRAYER FOR YA BOY N GO GET THE NEW ALBUM #wordsofarealone.” While the full terms of the plea remain sealed, the announcement leaves open questions about what lies ahead for the outspoken artist. The Apple TV+ series will premiere on Friday, August 29, and consist of eight episodes. According to Kpopped‘s synopsis, “A group of western artists reimagine their hit songs in collaboration with K-pop idols. They compete in battle performances judged by an audience in Seoul.”  Patti LaBelle is just one of the industry heavyweights expected to take the stage at KPopped. In a filing submitted in Florida federal court, Megan’s legal team is asking the judge to sanction Lanez—born Daystar Peterson—who is currently behind bars. According to Chart Data, SZA’s sophomore album is now the second most-streamed album by a female artist in Spotify’s history. Released in December 2022, the 23-track project could serve as the alternative R&B star’s magnum opus. S.O.S spawned several hit singles, including “Good Days,” “Kill Bill,” and “Snooze.” The album debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200 and spent nearly thirteen non-consecutive weeks atop the chart. Along with critical acclaim, the former TDE singer earned nine nominations at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards. While she didn’t take home Album Of The Year, she was able to walk away with Best Progressive R&B album. Before that, she had just wrapped up a successful tour in support of the album, which grossed over $100,000,000 — making her the fourth Black female artist to achieve this milestone.
